David Warren BSc(Hons)Arch, FRICS joined the Practice as a trainee in 1976. He qualified as a Chartered Quantity Surveyor in 1982 and was promoted as an Associate Surveyor of Cook & Butler in 1985. David was appointed as a Partner in Downey & Butler in 1988 and upon the retirement of Ron Downey in 1997, became Principal of Downey & Warren Associate

Richard Sewell MRICS joined the Practice as a Senior Surveyor in 1998. He has had nearly 30 years of experience as a quantity surveyor working for a number of professional practices, contractors and developers. Richard undertakes the role of Planning Supervisor. Richard was appointed as an Associate on 1st January 2001.

Senior Surveyor

Paul Coleman BSc MRICS MCIOB joined the Practice as Senior Surveyor at the beginning of 2001 after 8 years as Chief Quantity Surveyor with a local building contractor.

History of Practice

The practice can trace its history back to 1st December 1963 when an office was opened in Ipswich by a London practice known as Cook & Butler. Ron Downey was appointed to manage the office and became a partner of Cook & Butler in 1973.

Following aquisition of the Ipswich Office by Ron Downey in 1986, the practice was re-named Downey & Butler.

On 1st May 1995 the Practice name was changed to Downey & Warren.


We moved to our current address in 2000.
